Job Opportunity: Mobile Data Centre Engineer
Location: London / M25 corridor.
Position: Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
Our client offers a wide range of services, so expect every day to be different with new challenges to face. They have regular contracted clients who they work with on a weekly basis as well as clients with big projects that can take months to complete. Detailed below are the duties their engineers are required to carry out for their clients:
- Lifecycle Support - Equipment & Connectivity Auditing, Install, Moves & Changes, Relocation, Decommissioning & Disposal, Patching, Troubleshooting
- Managed Data Centre Services - Data Centre Migration, Capacity Management, Rollout & Deployment
- Infrastructure - Structured Cabling, Rack Deployment & Aisle Containment, Wireless Networking
Experience and Skills Required:
- It is essential that you have worked in data centres and are comfortable in that environment. Ideally, you have experience working night shifts and antisocial hours. Due to the nature of this industry, weekend and unsociable hours will be required.
- All their technical and work information is electronic based and so your computer and especially Microsoft Excel skills must be intermediate at a minimum, with advanced preferred.
- Experience of Hardware, Cable and Connection Auditing.
- Proven record of IT support/break-fix hardware/cabling/cable troubleshooting.
- Practical, hands-on, individual as this is a field-based skilled role that will involve being on your feet a lot of the time.
- Good communicator both written and verbally and be able to pass on information without ambiguity to both clients and colleagues.
- Recent experience of copper and fibre structured cabling in data centre and commercial environments would be advantageous
- Possess a full clean UK driving licence.
