Senior Data Cabling Engineer Opportunity in Portsmouth | Open to Contract or Perm
Are you passionate about structured cabling and ready to make an impact? Our client is a prominent player in the telecommunications industry for over two decades. We are seeking a skilled Senior Structured Cabling Engineer to bolster our dynamic team in Portsmouth.
The Role:
As a Structured Cabling Engineer, you'll immerse yourself in diverse projects around the Portsmouth area and occasionally into London. Your responsibilities will include:
• Deploying state-of-the-art 5e/6/6a cabling systems in commercial and construction environments.
• Demonstrated proficiency in fibre optic infrastructure is preferred.
• Installation of AP and other devices
• Working with a fellow engineer, you will take the lead, showcasing your strong leadership and initiative-taking abilities.
• Installation of various containment systems.
• Adhering meticulously to project specifications and blueprints.
• Prioritising adherence to Health and Safety standards.
• Overseeing material procurement schedules efficiently.
• Guaranteeing punctual achievement of project milestones.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Possession of ECS/CSCS Card and IPAF Card.
• Proficiency in installing, terminating, and testing data cables.
• Experienced with AV systems is advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years' hands-on experience in data cabling installation projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, showcasing exceptional organisational skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a positive company image.
• Ability to interpret schedules and diagrams effectively.
• Basic proficiency in IT and networking.
• Proficient in utilizing a diverse range of hand and power tools for wiring and telecoms equipment assembly.
• Ownership of a comprehensive set of hand and power tools necessary for the role.
• Must be able to provide reliable references.
