- Bauhaus Recruitment is currently seeking Data Cabling Engineers for ongoing contract positions based in Derby.
Job Role:
We are looking for individuals experienced in the installation of network cabling infrastructure at various sites across the UK, including construction sites, retail establishments, and commercial premises.
Main Responsibilities:
- Installation, termination, and testing of cat5e, cat6, cat6a, and multi-core telephony cables.
- Equipment patching using CAT5 and Fibre Optic patch cables, as well as inter-rack cabling.
- Installation of Access points.
- Deployment of different containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray, and baskets.
- Working within set deadlines to ensure tasks are completed to specification.
- Completing all job-related paperwork to the required standards.
- Maintaining regular contact with customers to ensure installations meet their needs.
- Creating and understanding site-specific Risk Assessments.
Skills and Attributes:
- Hold an ECS/CSCS Card.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience working on data cabling installation projects.
- City & Guilds cabling certification or a similar qualification is preferred.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Proficient in working with a wide range of hand and power tools for wiring and telecoms equipment assembly.
- Ability to meet targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Organized and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Attentive to accuracy and detail at all times.
- Excellent communication skills for building rapport with individuals at all levels.
- Present a positive company image.
- Provide a timely, polite, and efficient service.
- A good team player who can work effectively with or without supervision.
- Capable of working with schedules and diagrams.
- Qualified to use various test equipment for the telecoms sector.
- Basic IT and networking skills.
- Must have a complete set of basic hand tools, drills, and terminating tools.
