- Bauhaus Recruitment are currently resourcing for 3x Data Centre Engineers n London for 6 month contracts on the below sites.
Locations- Moorgate
- Canary Wharf
- Croydon
The bulk of the role will be to provide BAU and DCE project support Sites with respect to Client Requirements including but not limited to the below:- Communicate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the completion of technically correct and sustainable installations.
- Use company tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these system
- daily walkabout housekeeping
- Day team plan and prepare for that night’s work, including preparation of stock, labels, checking validity of CHG
- submit daily updates of progress of projects and email summary of works completed
- Troubleshooting issues within the DC – to follow current procedures and adhere to CHG job guidelines.
- Audits as requested
- Server Installs & Decoms
- To manage patching and various server / switch installs in a safe manner in accordance to current best practices & CHG.
- Ensure all Patching Schedules are updated & current best practice followed.
- Attend Client meetings / internal meetings when required necessary to perform daily duties and ongoing projects
- Act as Site Person in Charge if required for visitors; following site protocols, ensuring relevant site documentation is available and pre-start briefings, toolbox talks etc. are completed
Shift Patterns
Moorgate/Canary Wharf- Continental Shift Pattern
- 12 hour shifts
- Days + nights
Croydon- 4 on 4 off Shift pattern
- 12 hour shifts
- Days + nights
Rate
£21.00 per hour
Skills and Experience- Must have 2-year minimum similar work experience within a Data Centre for Technical understanding of Network Infrastructure
- Experience with a smart hands ticketing system like Remedy or Service Now
- Racking and Patching of Servers and Switches and related troubleshooting
- Rigging up a crash cart for basic diagnostics, configs
- Knowledge of Fibre and Copper Infrastructure including patching schedules and paths
- Tape Swaps, Hot Swaps
- Knowledge and experience of Server and Switch installation including Battery Raids, Hard Drive Swaps, DIM Memory and PSU Replacements.
- Knowledge of full Data Centre environment including MDFs / ODFs and Telco Carriers
- Good written and oral comms
- Flexibility in working hours / site to assist the team in providing a first-class service to LSEG.
